I carry your heart...

I saw part of this poem on hopespirals site...and just had to go back and revisit this great work....may we all be aware and remember whose heart we carry within ours...

e.e. cummings–i carry your heart

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in

my heart)i am never without it(anywhere

i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done

by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear

no fate(for you are my fate, my sweet)i want

no world(for beautiful you are my world, my true)

and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant

and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows

(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud

and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows

higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)

and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

1. Roots...the foundation of life.
2. Laughter...Deep heart felt laughter
3. Belief...the belief that I have in myself and the power that I hold on to.
4. Celebrations...and what they show you about yourself and others.
5. Patience...With myself and with others....

What 5 things can you acknowledge from this week that cause you to be ever so grateful?

Happy Life....

You may listen to today's blessing here:

Secret For A Happy Life

"Do what makes you happiest. Look upon what gives you joy. Speak to those who warm your heart. Listen to that which lifts your spirit. Surround yourself with sights and sounds and people that give you pleasure. For all the happiness you give to others all year long, give yourself a perfect day."

--Author Unknown

And then tomorrow, pattie, repeat the process.

May you always be willing to give yourself the perfect days you deserve

And may you always be aware that you are loved beyond measure and a cherished blessing to me.

Until tomorrow,

May your day be filled
with all things good,

Gratitude Sunday...

5 things I am grateful for today!

1. Creativity...doesn't matter if it is paint, paper, pen, or just taking a walk and seeing all the beautiful creativity around me...the birds, the sun, the buds. Creativity rocks my world!

2. Pets...and the unconditional love they bestow upon me!

3. Comfort food...You know, the stuff you make that reminds you of your childhood, or a happy time in your life...the comfort of home cooking...warm and loving fresh from the oven.

4. Good coffee...I mean, the first cup in the morning...hot and strong and so wake me up and let me start the day coffee!

5. Music...the sentiment it evokes, the way it makes you want to move your feet and body. How it can make you laugh or cry...Music..how silent it would be without it...

And you? What are a couple things you are grateful for today?

A note from the Universe!

Now, I know that each of us who get TUT across our screens every day receive the same message. BUT...it is how it impacts each of us individually that matters! We each read it and apply it to our own life and today...this message was exactly what I needed...exactly what I was suppose to hear! Hope it can be applied to you too!

Be proud to know as much as you do about life, dreams and reality. Bask, Patricia. It was a long climb up the stairway of enlightenment, and many a battle over false beliefs and mass consciousness have been won. You don't have to shout from your roof to live your truth every second of every day, but don't shy away from the ignorant; they need you. Nor be intimidated by the truly wise; they love you. And please don't ever let self-consciousness keep you from slipping into a world that would be unimaginably incomplete without you.
...THE UNIVERSE.

5 Things I am grateful for today

Today, is Easter Sunday and I am very grateful today for so many things. I hope everyone takes a moment to reflect on their life today.

1. The full moon that illuminated the sky last night and shone so brightly with its splendor.
2. The connection I have with the silence.
3. The love that is so abundant in my life.
4. The ability to unleash my creativity.
5. The sweet Robin's song and the coming of Spring.

Today, may you reach out and be touched by those you love, by happiness, by joy, by silence but most of all by love.

5 Things I am grateful for today

I have been so wrapped up in things that some days have slipped by me and I did not even notice. Hey....where did Sunday go?...what day is it today? You say it is Tuesday already! OH MY....
(well...you get the picture I am sure)
Anyhow here are 5 things I am grateful for:

1. Seeing my first Robin this year! (It means Spring is on the way!!)
2. Hearing my grandson laugh when I tickle him and then hearing him say UNCLE BILLY BOB when he wants me to stop! (you have to have a code!)
3. Seeing a painting come to life from a pencil sketch...
4. Having good friends in my life.
5. Freshly baked pie...and the delicious smell it causes to linger in the house!

Artfully Yours,
Pattie
PS: Go ahead try it....it is as easy as 1...2...3...!

Risk....

I received this today in my mail box....it also goes along with the link for BE BRAVE....If you don't get Kate's daily blessing it is a wonderful thing to inspire you every day and she has a 30 day challenge...you can sign up for here.

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd, is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.
Chained by their attitudes, they are slaves; they have forfeited their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free."

-- Poem quoted in "Dear Abby"

When you stop to think about it, what greater risk can one possibly face than that of looking back fifty or sixty years from now and admitting that he might have truly lived had he not been in afraid of the risks involved? Life is risky business. That is one of the reasons it is so very sweet.

May you always be willing to take the risk.

And may you always be aware that you are loved beyond measure and a cherished blessing to me.

Until tomorrow,

May your day be filled
with all things good,

Personally this is just something I needed to hear once again!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all who enter here today! This image was sent to me by the lovely Chantal this morning! It was so cheery that I just had to share it with everyone...along with this Irish Blessing...

May your joys be as bright as the morning,
And your sorrows merely be shadows that fade,
In the sunlight of love.
May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet.
Enough trials to keep you strong.
Enough sorrows to keep you human.
Enough hope to keep you happy.
Enough failure to keep you humble.
Enough success to keep you eager.
Enough friends to give you comfort.
Enough faith and courage in yourself to banish sadness.
Enough wealth to meet your needs.
And one thing more: enough determination
To make each day a more wonderful day than the day before.

~Irish Blessing~

Be Brave!

Do
one
thing
every
day
that
scares
you.
words of Eleanor Roosevelt

When I saw this post and link it spoke to me in volumes so loud...There are things that I have been wanting to do, but fear stops me dead in my tracks...Fear of the unknown..fear of failure...fear of success...So I am linking to this site...I am linking to my heart...I am linking to my dreams...I am going to step up and do one brave thing...EVERY DAY! Care to join in...and become FEARLESS!
Here's the rules:
  • (most important:) MAKE YOUR OWN RULES.
  • Do this for yourself.
  • Make a commitment for the length of time that best suites YOUR needs--one day, one month, one year, one moment...it's all up to you, and you alone. ;)
  • The "brave" or "scary" things that you choose to do can be as big or little as you want them to be. Sometimes it's the little things that can be the most scary!
  • (not to quote Nike, but...) Just do it.
  • Be on your own schedule. You don't need to make a commitment until YOU are ready.
  • This is your unique journey--make it whatever you want it to be.

Totem Painting

While watching the latest You Tube from Suzi Blu she was inviting everyone to do a journal page with your animal totem with the feel of a mola...I have always had a strong pull toward lizards. I remember as a child catching them as they ran around my grandparents front yard in Florida. When I visited my friend, Debs in Key West this past fall I was surrounded by them every day. I have used them many times in paintings...but finally today, looked up what they meant...Here is a brief summary:
The lizard is sensitive to vibration..eyes are sharp and excellent hearing. They have the ability to break off a wall to escape and save itself from danger. When they come to you it is a sign that it is time to change. Letting go of ideas and actions for a new way. Make your decisions wisely. Awaken abilities by making choices that honor every part of your life. Go within and analze your present reality. Once you do this move with confidence and convention into the world of a new beginning. This is a powerful totem it reveals your weaknesses, your strengths and prompts energy changes..
Gee! And I thought it was just their ability to change colors!!
Watch the video at:

Have fun and enjoy the process ...if you don't know what your animal means you can go here and find out! Very interesting!!

Quote...

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart.
Try to love the questions themselves
Like locked rooms and like books
That are written in a very foreign language.
Do not now seek the answers,
Which cannot be given you
Because you would not be able to live them.
Live the Question now.
Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it,
Live along some distant day into the Answer."

This is how you play...

Moonshadow at KSBorn tagged me for this meme. Here are the instructions:

Step one is to take the first book you lay eyes on that fits the rules. Not your favorite book, but the closest at hand:

The rules are as follows…
1. The book must be over 123 pages.
2. Find page 123 in the book.
3. Find the first 5 sentences.
4. Post the next 3 sentences.
5. Tag 3 other people

So, the first book I saw was “Life, Paint and Passion” Page 123 only has a couple of sentences, so here they are….

“When you encounter a block, look inside for a rule to break! Remember: It’s not the painting that’s important, it’s you. Once the painting is finished, it’s just a piece of paper with paint on it - and there will be hundreds more! ”

Happy Saint Valentine Day...

Happy Saint Valentine Day to all who enter here today! Wishing you heartfelt blessings from me to you... I received my monthly newsletter from Jill today, and if you haven't had the opportunity to sign up for her newsletter, do your self a favor and sign up today! She always has fun little things to get your brain creatively thinking...Here are a few she offered and I will share what I did....
Make an acronym out of the word HEART...
H...heartfelt
E...energy
A...allows
R...real
T...trust
and then there was the series of words ....
adjust, fascinating, implore, finally, red bow, running water, mingle, figure, door, stop, ramble, story, hear no, after, fringe, red, fence, order

After standing at the fence for a long time, she decided to adjust her red heart and hear what her spirit was saying. She finally would open the door to the story. She would ramble on trying to keep it all in order. She would implore her mind to figure out and remember the fascinating moments. There were many fringe benefits to doing this she thought as she mingled her past and her present together. Finally she had to stop and turn off the running water and replace it. There would be no more tears. For she had replaced them with a red bow of love.

THE NAME GAME!!

What Patricia Means

You are influential and persuasive. You tend to have a lot of power over people.
Generally, you use your powers for good. You excel at solving other people's problems.
Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.
What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?

I came across this site while visiting Joanna...Do yourself a favor and go to both!
I was also HAPPY to find out that Patricia and Pattie mean the exact same thing..

Blogging Gone Wild!

What is it about blogging that has such a strong pull for me? I post every day to at least one of my blogs..and we all know I have a few!! It keeps me in check with myself .. with my art...with my soul. It allows me to connect with YOU who come to visit...who leave comments or e mail me. It is a virtual journal of life...a feeling of being connected as I sit alone in my studio, the solitary area of an artist. It is here that I can post something and hope that someone will read it, or see a piece of art and know what I was feeling. Or that it might evoke a feeling in them that speaks to their core. It is being able to meet and make friends in place I have only dreamed of traveling to...people that I will probably never meet in my life time, but who I have formed friendships and bonds with that time and space cannot hinder. What is it about blogging that has such a strong pull for me? It is as simple as typing a word or posting a picture and being heard...even if no one else is there. I ask you today...What is it about blogging that brings you here today for a visit...and won't you take a moment and introduce yourself as you read these lines....WELCOME...take a look at the side bar..I have a couple more too!! LOL...
Artfully Yours,
Pattie
PS: If you like to alter things...I just started a new blog: The Buck STARTS Here. It is a challenge for all those who like to alter or are new to it (like I am!) where I will be purchasing things from the dollar store to alter and challenge you to do the same! Following Your Heart’s Desire!

In this case, 'it' is a Clock.
You know what it is! It calls to you during your waking hours, comes to you in your dreams and haunts you when you do not acknowledge it

Following Your Heart’s Desire!

by Pattie Mosca

In 1998 after reading SARK’s book, “SUCCULENT WILD WOMAN” I decided that it was TIME! Time to get back to my hearts desire! I had raised my children, and they had flown the nest. The new cat had filled a void, but something was still missing! That piece of ME that I had given up on as a young adult. And now, I was going back, starting over, beginning once again and allowing myself to do ART!

I started designing clocks out of a 4-inch square box that I had received a gift in. Where someone else just saw a brown paper box, I saw a KOOL KLOX in a BOX! I designed, I spent hours painting and assembling. I did this with a friend of mine, who worked out of her home as I was working out of mine. One day we finally got together to show each other what we had accomplished. AHHHHHHH…she had made the most beautiful clocks and mine looked, well at best, childish! I beat myself up, gave up, and decided whom was I kidding! But, then I came to the realization (after many days of tears) that my clocks were just different! We had committed to doing a festival, so I had no choice but to continue making my clock, Red hot chili pepper clocks that had festive sombreros on them, frog clock with lip prints exclaiming, “JUST HOW MANY OF THEM DO I HAVE TO KISS IN A DAY?” and the “Queen for a Day” clock. At the festival people laughed at my clocks and smiled and to my delight bought!! I sold almost all my clocks! It was after this festival that I decided that my art was my art!! Childish, whimsical, and most of all made people smile. I designed a clock for SARK, but never made or sent it!

This year, I attended the WILD CHILD WISDOM RETREAT! Mostly I was called to it because of Marney and my Muse, Jill Badonsky, were going to be doing it! But, to my excitement SARK was going to be the keynote speaker. I met her, told her about the clock and the inspiration that she had given me. She said “YOU MUST MAKE IT AND SEND IT TO ME!” After returning home I did just that!

There is always a moral at the end of a good story. Something that you walk away with, that you know to be true. The moral here is to FOLLOW YOUR HEART’S DESIRE.

You know what it is! It calls to you during your waking hours, comes to you in your dreams and haunts you when you do not acknowledge it. Start today! Allow yourself to take a few minutes and do what has been calling to you. It will truly make your heart soar! Although I have long since grown past the clocks and now do furniture and murals, one clock remains on my drawing table to remind me of where I started. How my wings have grown and how high I can actually fly!

I am hoping that I will be giving you a little inspiration to follow your heart!

With all that being said: FLY ON THE WINGS OF YOUR DREAMS!

7 WEIRD THINGS ABOUT ME!!

My friend Sheila, tagged me to give you and insight into my weirdness!! LOL...
ONLY 7 things!! So here goes:
1. I can clean my studio, but I ACTUALLY am more creative if it is a mess!

2. I am a collector of sorts, and when I use to do counted cross stitch I would buy a pattern
the material and all the threads....I have so many in bags (that I probably will never do!)
that I could more than likely set up a small store!

3. I am very shy!! I guess that is why doing this machine is a bit easier for me that a face to
face....I get to expose much more of myself!

4. My house is devoid of color....Yes, the girl who dreams in color, paints in color, and visualizes
in color has beige walls!!

5. I spend a lot of my time in my pj's!! On a good day I don't get dressed till noon and then I get
back into my pj's around 4! Needless to say, all my pj's and bathrobes have paint all over
them!

6. I did not learn to drive till I was 30 years old! Yes, you read that correctly...I was a single mom barely making ends meet, so I couldn't afford a car and insurance! My kids and I walked
everywhere, took buses, and relied on good friends! (actually it was a GREAT life!)

AND A DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

7. I really LOVE certain cartoon programs...and I am so glad that I have a grandson so I get to
watch them whenever he is over....Sesame Street/ the Count/Cookie Monster...LOVE THEM!

So...I pass this on to anyone who would loved to be TAGGED for 7 WEIRD THINGS BOUT THEM SELF...Just post back here and we will all come and see just how Weird YOU ARE!

The four charity badges with the most unique donations through America's Giving Challenge will get $50,000 for their cause. America's Giving Challenge runs until January 31st.

What we need to do:
Put this 6 Degrees Badge on your blog and help spread the word.

Donate:
If you are able donate , please donate via the badge a $10 tax deductible donation. We need the most people possible to each donate $10 to A Place to Bark. In order to win the grant she needs to have the most amount of donors, not necessarily the amount of money donated.

It gets better!
All donations made to A Place to Bark's Six Degrees Badge, will be matched by the "Zoline Foundation" up to $25,000.00!!! All donations up to June 1st will be counted for the matching donation from the Zoline Foundation. It's a win-win!

About A Place to Bark:
"A Place to Bark" is a private no kill rescue run solely by Bernie Berlin. All animals come from high kill shelters in the south and are on death row. Combining health care, rehabilitation, and working with animal welfare organizations A Place to Bark provides a true no kill vision. Registered 501c3 non-profit. Visit A Place to Bark's web site.

Mary Oliver Poem....

The Summer Day

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean--
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down--
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

A New Year dawning soon...

I am beginning to get uncovered from the paint and wrapping paper and glittery bows...and I am reminded once again of these words as we approach the dawning of the New Year...I post them here for you also to reflect and rejoice in the wisdom...

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

WHERE IS THE MAN???

THE TRICK IS TO FIND THE MAN IN THE COFFEE BEANS:

This is bizarre - after you find the guy - it’s so obvious.

Once you find him - it’s embarrassing, and you think, Why didn’t I see him immediately?

Doctors have concluded that if you find the man in the coffee beans in 3 seconds, the right half of your brain is better developed than most people.

If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, the right half of the brain is developed normally.

If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein

If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger!!!
And, yes, the man is really there!!!

HAVE FUN!!!!!

THINKING!

So, I have been thinking! (my dh usually says: OH no ...she is thinking again...we're in trouble!) LOL...I receive a good deal of E mail about my site Luminosity
How the affirmations that I do, Monday through Friday, touch their lives and makes them think about different things....So here is where the "thinking" comes in!! (LOL) I have decided that come JANUARY 1, 2008 I will be finishing up the Luminosity site and beginning a NEW SITE...where I will help you do your own affirmation pages by providing some writing prompts....I will still share my affirmations but would love for others to JOIN WITH ME in this adventure...I will be posting this again and hope that I will HEAR FROM YOU and let me know if you would love to join in the fun of exploring FROM THE INSIDE OUT....which will be the new site once I get it perfected!! Now, this would be a place where you can take the prompt (or use your own insight) and then once you complete your affirmation you will be able to place a link to your site in the comment section to share what it is that you are focusing on or learned about yourself..... WHAT DO YOU THINK??? (If you want to do artwork...do so...If you want to just write...that is cool too...because Affirmations are YOURS to learn from and there is NO RIGHT WAY OR WRONG WAY to do them!)
WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY NEXT YEAR AND LEARN A LITTLE MORE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR HONEST SPIRIT?
LET ME KNOW I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Something about Fall.....

What is it about fall that makes us want to nest??? Makes us want to clean and organize our space?
Like many of you I have a studio in my home...well, some days it is a studio and some days it is just a path to the place where I work!! Today, it is a path...I am finishing up a project and working daily on my affirmation pages...I have a list of deadlines on my wall (I am a last minute deadline girl as you all know!! It just seems to make my creative juices flow!)But before I can really get into the next project I have to pick up and clean my studio space!! Now, this is no easy task!! Because I am learning that part of the clutter is what makes me the most creative! I like to be surrounded, almost nestled into the surroundings in some sort of way, as if I am a part of it and not just the person that comes in here to work or play....I am sure that I do not own a pair of pants, or shirt that does not have some kind of paint, glue or glitter on it! I get a new pair of pj's and a bathrobe every year and PROMISE myself that I will NOT wear them in the studio and then BAM...I do and christen it with some kind of medium! As I type this I can barely see any wood on the top of this desk...It is covered with papers and affirmations, trinkets of all shapes and sizes and books that bring me peace and creative inspiration.
So, what is it about fall that makes us want to clean and prepare for the winter ahead? Is it something that is just a part of nature like the squirrels and bears do before the cold of winter hits? Do we do this instinctively the way nature does...I am watching out the window as leaves are falling gently from the trees in my yard, feathering the ground lightly to allow the grass a blanket which to slumber under....As I gaze and ponder what it is that needs to be done in here to gently ease myself into this cold weather, I wonder, how many others are doing the same!
So today, may you feather your abode and prepare yourself to be creative and strong...may you know that this process is going on in other studios at the very same time and feel a comfort of connection....

Pattie

Memories to last a life time!

I have returned home from my trip to visit the most gracious couple I have had the pleasure to know...Debs and Tim not only opened their beautiful home to me, but also their hearts. On the beautiful island of Key West, Florida they opened the door to their home, where wonderment and treasures adorned every square inch of it. Such a feast for the eyes for an artist...I would touch things and see the gatherings of a life time in their home....And had the privilege to hear the stories that connected these collections to their hearts...and now etched into my mind and heart also...I could sit on their front porch and hear the swaying of the palms at sunset, see the opening of the bird of paradise flowers in the neighbors yard, butterflies, lizards, iguanas, and birds...for one who needed serenity this was certainly paradise! The sunsets, the food, the laughter, the stories, the freedom and the abundance of friendship and love was all so comforting to my heart... While I was taken on sight seeing adventures, went to fantasy fest , and ate the most wonderful meals...it is the fullness of my heart that I bring back with me...the unconditional amount of open hospitality, the closeness of the life stories that we shared and the feeling of family that my memory will hold with the most loving of thoughts. I am aware that one does not have to be born into this family in order to belong....My heart is full and I miss them already. So from my heart to yours I know dear Debs and Tim that thank you for what you have given me is such a small set of words but my heart is in every letter....
Today, I wish for all of you to know and experience that which a friend can bring to your table. And that you too will feel the love deep within your heart and carry that with you forever.
Artfully Yours,
Pattie

FLYING!

Today I am making the final preparations for a 10 day holiday!!! I will be off line till November 2
Till then....
May your joys be as bright as the morning,
And your sorrows merely be shadows that fade,
In the sunlight of Love.
May you have enough happiness to keep you sweet.
Enough trials to keep you human.
(My friend, Chantal sent this to me, and I do so love it!)
Blessings to all...
